SPORT & DANCE COACHING
What Do We Do?
We believe that we are a little different at D E Sportz & Dance. In addition to providing coaching sessions for primary and secondary schools, we develop clusters of schools and clubs to enable us to run tournaments at the end of terms. Trophies are provides to the winning schools.
These tournaments provide the exhilaration of competition, and drive pupils to have a greater involvement in extracurricular clubs. We welcome parents and family to come along to these events to cheer on the participants.
We deliver Breakfast Clubs, Lunch Clubs, After School Clubs, PPA time, Holiday Clubs, Sports Days, Birthday Parties and Sports and Dance Competitions, Plus:
DE Sportz&dance are working closely with community parnerships in the Firth Vale area helping to lead community meetings and writing Bids which goes towards puting on activites for the children in the holiday time. Where also working closely with Brushes Tara, Gleadless Tara and Wensley Tara all community workers that do a great job. We step in to this by puting on FREE activities for the children in that area to enjoy after school time.
We cover a fantastic array of activities, for example:
Parkour
Boxercise
Glee
This activity combines singing and dancing, which after 5 or 6 weeks training can be performed by the pupils to a school assembly.
Uni-Hock
A form of simplified Hockey, using plastic hockey sticks, which can be played indoors or outdoors by a mixed age range, with both boys and girls participating together.
Multi Sports
Different Sports are delivered every week, to give the pupils a taster of a variety of different activities. This is very popular with keystage 1 pupils.
Athletics
We deliver different athletic activities every week, including Javelin, Shot, Discuss, Sprint, Long Jump, Relay Running, and Low Hurdles.
Dodgeball
This game is where players try to hit their opponents with an inflated ball in order to get them removed from the game, but can also have different variations and themes.
Benchball
This game involves pupils throwing a ball to their goalie on a bench, without it being caught by the other team. As teams score goals, the scoring player joins the goalie on the bench. Players pass the ball between themselves until someone decides to shoot.
Tag Rugby
Tag rugby, is a non-contact team game in which each player wears a belt that has two Velcro tags attached to it, and is played with normal rugby rules.
Gymnastics
This includes physical exercises designed to develop and display strength, balance, and agility, which can be performed on specialised apparatus.
Zumba
Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo. Squats and lunges are also included.
Cheerleading
This involves a group that performs coordinated routines typically combining gymnastic and dance manoeuvres, to lively music and may involve pom-poms.
Streetdance
ALL our sports and dance activities, incorporate, fitness, agility, balance, co-ordination, stamina, teamwork, self-discipline, promoting healthy minds and bodies.
